BUYING BASICS
How Do I Place A Bid?
You can bid in person, submit an absentee bid, or bid on telephone. Your registration and application for participation in the sale are mandatory.
Bid in Person
If you want to bid in person, you have to collect a bidding paddle before the sale. Please do not forget your ID or passport. All first time bidders must apply for the sale and register with Art salon Zagreb prior to the sale.
Please note that the hammer price is subject to a buyer's premium and VAT.
Absentee Bid
All our registered clients can submit the absentee bid with their purchase limit by post, fax, or email. The absentee bid form should arrive 72 hours prior to the sale. We do not guarantee for the absentee bidders who were late. We will bid on your behalf up to the purchase limit.
The hammer price is subject to a buyer's premium and VAT.
Telephone Bid
Let us know in writing or by telephone at least 48 hours before the sale which lots you are interested in and leave the phone number where we can reach you during the auction. We will call you shortly before your lot comes up for sale and you can bid on phone in the
auction.

Art salon Zagreb is not held responsibe in case we cannot reach you or in case of a misunderstanding in the course of telephone bidding.
Conditions of Sale
By participating in the auction you accept the Conditions of Sale, which are part of the contract. You can find the Conditions of Sale on our website. We strongly recommend that you read them carefully.
Presale Exhibition
We will hold the presale exhibition of auction lots at Art salon Zagreb, Ilica 12.
Starting Price/Reserve Price
The starting price is stated in the auction catalog. All lots have a reserve price, which is the minimum price determined by the seller. The reserve price is never formally disclosed and known only to the seller and to the auction house.
Hammer Price
The hammer price is the highest auction bid.
Buyer's Premium
A 20% buyer's premium is added to the hammer price of up to kn 500,000.
A 18% buyer's premium is added to the hammer price above kn 500,000.
VAT
25% VAT is added to buyer's premium.
Invoice
A successful bidder is issued the invoice which states the hammer price, the buyer's premium with VAT, and the total amount.
Property Collection
Succesful biddeers can collect their lot only after the whole amount has been received. Should there be a misunderstanding regarding the conditions of sale, the Croatian original will be consulted.
HOW TO SELL
Our two yearly auctions include various art forms and periods, as well as antiques. At preauction valuaton and appraisal days, you can meet our top experts who will evaluate your property and advise you whether to put it in the sale.
Registration for Auction
Consultations with our experts in person are free and unbinding. If your propery is appropriate for sale, we propose that you sign seller's contract. A three-day preauction exhibition with your property will be held before sale.
Seller's Contract
Seller's contract sets all the details the consignor and the auction house have agreed to including the reserve price of your property. By signing the contract, you state that you are its owner and entitle the auction house to sell it to the highest bidder.
